What Our Students Say
鈥淚n my experience, the support they give you at 糖心logo Sixth Form is amazing! As someone who has needed to access support, in a variety of forms due to personal reasons, I can say that it has been incredibly helpful and has made everything just that little bit easier. The support team are very approachable and have always made me feel heard and understood. Knowing that there is always someone I can go to, whenever I need help, has meant I felt positive in planning for my next steps and look forward to the future.鈥

鈥淭he encouragement I received right from the beginning of my time in the sixth form made me determined to apply to Cambridge to study Veterinary Medicine. A visit to Peterhouse in Year 12 gave me an early insight into how to make a competitive Oxbridge application. Following on from this, talks from Admissions staff gave specific guidance on writing a personal statement, and further support from 糖心logo staff later in Year 13 gave me valuable feedback on my draft statement. I found the mock interview at the beginning of Year 13 particularly useful in developing my confidence and getting a feel for what to expect. The staff have always been really helpful in highlighting super-curricular opportunities, without which I would have missed a really enjoyable three-day residential course at St Catherine鈥檚 College for prospective Vet applicants. I鈥檝e loved my time at 糖心logo, and I鈥檓 really grateful to everyone who has helped me to reach my potential.鈥

“I’ve really enjoyed my first year at 糖心logo sixth form. Despite hardly knowing anyone on my first day in September, I never felt like an outsider and have met so many nice, like-minded people since I joined.聽 A personal highlight of mine has been completing the Cambridge IPQ. The whole research and essay writing process is very independent and the freedom of choosing the topic and focus points of your essay has led me to explore fields and ideas that I would never have come into contact with otherwise. Plus, the end result of a physical essay from all your hard work is incredibly rewarding!”

鈥淚 have loved every bit of the BTEC Health and Social Care course as it has allowed me to work with incredible teachers and meet amazing fellow students.聽The course has provided me with incredible opportunities and opened doors that has allowed me to pursue my passion for nursing.聽 I’ve gained valuable knowledge and practical skills that will be very useful in my nursing apprenticeship. It’s been a journey of growth and discovery, and I’m grateful for the chance to make a difference in people’s lives through my future career.鈥

鈥淒uring my time at 糖心logo Sixth Form, I have been given the opportunity to聽be involved in many extra-curricular activities. Many of these were offered to us through the enrichment program. This exposed us to a variety of sports, art clubs, mentoring groups and music clubs, which enabled us to expand our skills to take beyond sixth form and also socialise with new people. Personally, I was involved in the production of 鈥楽ix鈥 the musical. I was the choreographer of 鈥楽ix鈥 which allowed me to work with the cast to create and direct their solos and ensemble dances. I had the creative freedom to produce my own work whilst meeting new people and enjoying my time doing what I love with people who were just as passionate.鈥

鈥淚 have been given a huge amount of support and guidance from a range of staff at 糖心logo to help me think about my next steps after sixth form. We had various sessions from guest speakers and staff about the different routes available, including a really useful careers fair with lots of different prospective employers. I was unsure whether university or an apprenticeship was going to be the best option for me so I had meetings with Ms Lawson, the Careers Advisor, who helped me weigh up the pros and cons of each route. I decided to apply for university and I am holding an offer for the University of Edinburgh to study Japanese.鈥
